population growth
There is one enabler of America’s addiction to population growth which I find as difficult to categorize as I find it difficult to understand. It is called “birthright citizenship” and it produces what are called “anchor babies.” Let me explain. Perhaps you can decide where it belongs...

CHAPTER 10: THE ENABLERS – GOVERNMENT
A Peculiar Precedent

A wealthy, pregnant Asian woman pays several thousand dollars to a specialized “travel agent” to arrange air transport to America and accommodations at a five-star American hotel until she can enter a first-class private hospital and give birth to a baby boy.

A poor, pregnant Latin American woman pays one thousand dollars to a “coyote” to smuggle her into America where she gives birth--without cost in a county hospital--to a baby girl.

A well-traveled, pregnant European woman accompanies her husband to America on a business trip and unexpectedly gives premature birth to fraternal twins--a boy and a girl.

If you ask, “So, what?” I understand. However, by a long-standing, strange tradition, each of those four babies would be American citizens with all the rights and privileges of other American citizens. So, America’s population has just increased by four and those four may eventually petition to have some of their relatives join them in America, further increasing our population.

How logical does it seem to you that babies should be declared American citizens simply on the basis of having been born in America? Such a strange tradition will not enable many wives of European businessmen to add to America’s population. But such enabling does encourage and has encouraged tens of thousands of pregnant women, some wealthy, but most from third-world countries, to cross America’s borders at least long enough to give birth and thereby establish an American citizen within their families.
